ENDING GUN VIOLENCE VIA

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

ORGANIZING FOR YOUTH,

FOR EVERYBODY!

MISSION

In our nation's capital, gun violence is an acceptable solution for youth troubleshooting their pain. FOuR. LLC, founded in 2016, aims to disrupt citywide gun violence through youth development and engagement.

VISION

Agents of self-worth, self-improvement, and community support will serve as tools for youth and families to articulate their ideas, become products of their dreams (rather than of their environments), and perceive life’s inevitable challenges as opportunities for growth.

FOuR Youth, LLC aims to positively transform the belief system of inner-city Washington, DC by way of instilling principles of hope and leadership into our future generation and their support systems. The mission of FOuR is to ultimately disrupt gun violence in the nation's capital through character development, restorative practice, and self-awareness building.

BEHIND THE NUMBER

The number FOuR symbolizes the birthdate of Founder and Visionary Tia Bell’s late uncle, Brian Francis Bell, who was born on April 4, 1985. Warmly referred to as “Doug, Dougie, or Fresh,” Brian was murdered in 2007 at the young age of 21. That same year, Tia departed for N.C. State University on a full athletic scholarship and honored Uncle Doug by wearing #4 on her jersey and carrying him in her heart. Proud to be the first in her family to finish high school and college, she stayed at N.C. State and received her Master’s in Youth Development.

Tia founded FOuR, LLC because she’s passionate about creating pathways for youth to thrive. The organization celebrates Uncle Doug’s light via its mission to disrupt gun violence through youth development and engagement.
